Well...

In india testing dont involve any kind of 'class' work that anybody can proud of ,I am a tester and manual testing sucks....

It dont enhance technical knowlwdge and leaves you on no man's land and you will feel like being ridiculed by the developer everytime.
That is somewhat okey....
but up to what extent a manual tester can know the technical aspects and i believe anybody even non graduate or a 10-12 standard kid can do that .....

well i am also a sad tester of india ....

In india teting is u can say a low level job ....

My answers to all of your questions is "Yes". And I even posted a comment and mailed you about my willingness to join the community proposed by you. Looks like the comment is rejected and even I did not receive a response to my mail. And I am not sure whether I can be part of your community or not. Please let me know if I do not meet any other criteria to be part of your community.

Hi
Testing job is really a passionable one. I dont like to give client mere a complete product ,but a perfect product. I have worked as manual test engineer with No standard. Nobody follows the standard .treated shabbily by developers .But sure I am , will become Gurus like bach, perry, caner,Hung etc

Mr Muthukumar !!

Thanks for registering comment for my blog post. I have few points to note with respect to your views.

1. By Software Testing - we, as testers provide service to our stakeholders. We are not in the business of giving a *mere complete* or *perfect* product. In my opinion, that is NOT POSSIBLE by performing Testing. Ensuring perfection or completeness is not goal of software testing that I believe and preach.

2. Software testing is not about following some "standards" so that developers respect testers. Respect from developers does not come from following standards.

3. With all due respect to "Perry - I think you are referring to William Perry" - I don’t think, Mr. Perry belong to group as People like James Bach, Dr Cem Kaner and Hung. The philosophy and principles of Software testing as perceived by Mr. Perry and others in the group are different.

As I read all the comments till now posted on this topic, I would like to have some points cleared for the testers:
If someone is saying that he is not getting knowledge by doing by manual testing , its completely wrong.
As I get a complete insight of product I am testing, I can do even better in my automation efforts for that product.

Its not like that you are not respected as you are a tester. If you have that qualities that makes even developer to take advice from you, As I experienced this in many cases.

I appreciate Shrini's efforts to take initiative and start a bloggers testing community. I will contribute and do whatever I can Do for it.
